Malls were looking like they’d had their day, and were going the way of the dinosaur. But thanks to COVID, they’ve made a roaring comeback. Especially in cities like New York. Human beings are social creatures. It feels good to get out of the house again and mingle with other shoppers instead of waiting for a delivery from Amazon. Where we once took shopping for granted, we’ve come to appreciate the ability to just browse and window shop. And given how close we came to malls becoming a thing of the past, they’ve really come to appreciate the value of their customers. 

One of the best parts of traveling is getting out to the stores and checking out all the cool merch. People come from around the world to get a fat slice of New York fashion and take it home with them. But the coolest thing about New York is that you don’t have to confine yourself to malls. Manhattan is the center of commerce for the United States and pretty much the whole world. You can buy and sell anything. And there are countless boutiques and artisan shops lining the streets of Manhattan that sell goods that literally can’t be found anywhere else.
