Who builds a Bohemian storybook village next to one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the world? America does! But only if you’re a Californian, because they’re the only Americans creative enough to even think of it. Carmel By the Sea is one of America’s little hidden treasures. Most tourists come to California for L.A., San Francisco and San Diego. But the clever ones get off the beaten path, jump on the Pacific Coast Highway, and head for the hidden gems of California.
Carmel By the Sea is considered one of the most walkable places in America, and with good reason. It goes beyond the fact that the streets are lined with precious little boutiques that sell any and everything you could ever need to be completely happy in a place this beautiful. Even if you don’t have a dime to spend, the window shopping is almost as good as the actual shopping. It even goes beyond all the adorable gingerbread houses that make this place look like fairies fly about at night.
This place is a gluttonous feast for the eyes and the senses. Being blind here would be a fate worse than death. Everywhere you look, there’s something beautiful waiting for you to stare at it. Being that’s it’s California, you’ve gotta know that everything costs ten times more than what it would anywhere else in America. But the most beautiful things in Carmel are 100% free. Just head down to the beach and you’ll see what I mean!
