Ibiza, In My Opinion

It’s an island, and one of the hottest party spots in Europe. And I didn’t get there. Which is tough to accept, because it was just a boat ride off the coast of Valencia, where I was going to school. So was Mallorca, and the Canary Islands. And I didn’t get there either. I was a student, so my money paid for school, not exotic vacations that were only a half-hour boat ride away. It’s decades later and I’m STILL kicking myself for that one. So I made this page to remind myself of how stupid it was to get all the way to Spain and not get to see one of the prettiest islands in the Mediterranean. I don’t have a lot of driving tours. Apparently, you don’t go there to ride around looking at the island. Ibiza is for people watching and partying. You go there to see, be seen, and to get really, REALLY drunk.

Exploring Ibiza

It’s not walkable in the traditional way. The beaches are rocky. The surf is rough. But don’t let that stop you from getting out of the car and exploring the beauty all around you. Take some time to enjoy McWay Falls, or just walk the beach. When you’re done, hop back in the car and head up to Carmel. If you’ve never been there and you’ve never heard of it, it’s nothing like you might imagine California to be. Completely unexpected. Check it out. It’s one of the coolest, trippiest places you’ll ever see.

Walk The Neighborhood

Move the mouse on top of the little gold man on the map. Hold down the left mouse button and you’ll see blue lines appear. Those lines are streets. Drag and drop the little man on top of the street you want and let go of the mouse button. The picture on the right will change to show you a view of that street along with the street name. Click the arrows on the street to “walk” around. Or you can double-click the street to walk if there’s an arrow under your cursor. Roll the middle mouse button to zoom in and out. That’s all there is to it. Now get out there and explore!
